Though “Killers of the Flower Moon” may be the greatest movie Martin Scorsese has ever directed and his true MASTERPIECE, I don’t believe I was expecting to be this moved by it. Instead, it seems like the trajectory of his career was leading up to this picture.
This (Magnum Opus) is AMAZING. There’s no denying that Scorsese is one of the greatest directors of all time, and this is undoubtedly some of his best work—at the very least, it should be a topic of discussion.
Some of the best images of the year were produced because to the tight collaboration between production designer Jack Fisk and director of photography Rodrigo Prieto. It’s time to honor Thelma Schoonmaker as the greatest editor of all time, and may she rest in peace.
All hands up.Marty and Leo have the greatest acting partnership ever.
What else can I say about DiCaprio at this point? He hasn’t done a bad movie, but this was an intriguing character for him; it was almost like Rick Dalton, except that I enjoy it when he acts like a crazy person because it’s so funny.
Lily Gladstone was wonderful; this was a breakout performance for her, and I thought it was fantastic. De Niro was also really good in it; he and Scorsese are legendary. This was unbelievable, therefore Lily Gladstone will most certainly win the Oscar for best actress. The tale is so unusual that it truly amazes me that it occurred and that people were able to escape with such ease.
Killers of the Flower Moon illuminates the horrific killings of the Osage people while taking you on a journey through human greed, corruption, and selfishness. It is uncompromising, unafraid, and cautious with the tale it is attempting to communicate. Disgraceful to the United States government. I was delighted to see that Scorsese seems to have paid more attention to accurately portraying Osage culture and people.
There is a genocide against Native Americans that ranks among the worst, but no one talks about it. Although the film’s runtime is undoubtedly difficult and its subject matter and pacing may not be to everyone’s taste, I sincerely hope that people will give it a chance. Given how it turns the tragedy of the Sage people on its head, the conclusion of Killers of the Flower Moon may be my favorite scene from 2023.
Easily one of the best English movie of the year; I can’t wait to watch it again!
